The PEJATC cannot accept payment online at this time. Please mail a check or money order with the appropriate amount to the PEJATC to complete your registration. Your name will be placed on a list of those planning to attend but your registration will not be complete until payment is received.
Some classes require a minimum number of students. If the class you sign up for does not meet the minimum number required, we will attempt to notify you that the class has cancelled. Cancelled classes will be announced on the Local Union's job line 602-279-9208, starting Thursday night.

FIRST AID & CPR ($6; July 26th, 2008 07:30am / 8 hours, 1 day)
First Aid & CPR for the Electrical Industry
This class will be 4 hours of CPR and 4 hours of First Aid.
CPR is valid for 1 year per OSHA Regulations and First Aid is valid for 3 years.

Significant changes of the 2008 NEC ($25; August 16th, 2008 07:30am / 1 day, 8 hours)
Significant changes of the 2008 NEC SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2008 (1 DAY 7:30 to 400pm) This 8 HOUR class discusses the updates made to the 2008 National Electrical Code. This is a journeyman level class but is an invaluable resource to all electricians, CW/CE & JW, electrical engineers, electrical contractors, and electrical inspectors focusing on the most important changes in the 2008 NEC. In addition, background information and discussion on the significance of the change will accompany each of these changes, many of which will be discussed in class. Cost for JW and CW/CE is $25.00. Student must register and pay for the class no later than AUGUST 15, 2008. NOTE: The 2008 National Electrical Code Book is $47.00, which is NOT included in the cost of the class. GROUNDING AND BONDING ($105; August 26th, 2008 04:00pm / 36 hours, 12 nights)
August 26 through October 2 (T&T 4:00 to 7:00pm) This 12-night course begins with the introduction of general fundamentals of grounding and examines the reasons for grounding and bonding. The text uses graphic illustrations and examples to instruct the student on grounding electrical systems and services. This course covers ground fault circuit interrupters, ground fault protection and bonding for electronic equipment. This class will cover the principals of grounding more than one building as well as special location requirements for grounding. The cost per JW is $155.00 and the cost per CE/CW is $105.00. Motor Theory ($115; August 26th, 2008 04:00pm / 18 hours, 6 nights)
Motor Theory August 26 through September 11 (M&W 4:00 to 7:00pm) The prerequisite for this class is AC Theory. This 6 night class will discuss the basic theory of rotation, magnetic and inductive theory, and complex theories of rotor phase angles and their effect on torque. The student will discuss the principles of electronic variable-speed controllers by examining DC and AC variable speed drives as well as eddy-current and magnetic clutches. There will be limited hands-on in this class as it is predominantly Motor Theory. Cost for JW is $160.00 and per CE/CW $115.00. Basic Fire Alarm ($65; September 09th, 2008 04:00pm / 18 hours, 6 nights)
Basic Fire Alarm September 09 through September 25 (T&T 4:00 to 7:00pm) This 6-night course begins with some basic fire alarm system definitions then deals with smoke detector application. The student then explores initiating devises and notification applications as well as advanced technology systems. The cost per JW is $110.00 and the cost per CE/CW is $65.00. Codeology ($150; September 16th, 2008 04:00pm / 39 hours, 13 nights)
September 16 through October 28, 2008 (T&T 4:00 to 7:00pm) This 13 night class is designed as a how to guide in reading and interpreting the National Electrical Code. CE/CWs, journeyman, contractors, engineers, designers and estimators will all benefit from this systematic approach to understanding the NEC. This course is designed to transform the NEC from simply a listing of minimal standards in the industry into a working and useful resource tool. The cost per JW is $210.00 and the cost per CE/CW is $150.00. Student must register and pay for the class no later than August 29,2008 as class size is limited to not more than 18 students. |

Transformer Theory ($100; September 30th, 2008 12:00am / 18 hours - 6 nights)
Transformer Theory September 30 through October 16, 2008 (M&W 4:00 to 7:00pm) The prerequisite for this class is AC Theory. This 6 night course will discuss the fundamentals of transformers as well as transformer theory. This is a predominantly scholastic class and will discuss the theory of magnetism and the effect it has on transformers, terminations and the physical aspects of transformer installation. Student will become familiar with WYE and DELTA connections followed by lab exercises. The cost per JW is $150.00 and the cost for CE/CW is $100.00. Student must register and pay for this class no later than September 12, 2008, as the class size is limited to not more than 18 students. |

Blueprints ($105; October 16th, 2008 04:00pm / 40 hours, 10 days)
October 16 THROUGH November 18 (T&T 4:00 to 7:00pm) This 10 night course covers the many necessary skills required to interpret and follow blueprint designs. It begins with the fundamentals of blueprint drawing and how to recognize the common scales used on blueprints. The student will learn to analyze blueprints by understanding and drawing the electrical and mechanical symbols commonly used in the field of electrical construction. The class will cover residential, commercial and industrial blueprints. The cost per JW is $160.00 and the cost for CE/CW is $105.00.
